GLACIAL POND
-
A beautiful pond, at the base of the Washington Glacier (you can see the highway in the distance), Alaska. Our tour guide told us that if we wanted to walk the glacier
we should go armed with an ice pick. As he had the only one on the tour, he suggested that we use sharp stones instead
to slow our fall through the ice! Well... we were Australian, what did we know! I think I carried mine for about 15
minutes before deciding that it wasn't going to do much slowing. The hike up the glacier was well worth it
though!
